Thailand’s military has blocked fuel exports passing through the checkpoint with Laos amid the escalated border tensions between Thailand and Cambodia. Thailand’s military spokesperson stated that the decision was made after reports of the supplies being routed to Cambodian troops. Additionally, the Thai military is considering designating maritime zones near Cambodian ports as “high-risk”. The measures heighten security and operational risks for commercial shipping in the Gulf of Thailand and could further disrupt critical regional supply chains and commerce.
