The Emirates Nuclear Energy Company (ENEC) and Hyundai
Engineering & Construction (HEC) formalized a Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) on 28 July in Seoul, agreeing to jointly develop
peaceful nuclear energy. This initiative, driven by rising global
electricity demand from AI and data centers, establishes a joint
working group for knowledge transfer, expertise sharing, and
investment assessment. The partnership is expected to strengthen
nuclear supply chains, accelerate R&D in Small Modular Reactors
(SMRs) and hydrogen production, and foster job creation. This strategic
collaboration reinforces both nations’ commitment to carbon neutrality
and energy diversification, aligning with international energy goals.
