In a new escalation of conflict between the United States and Iran, a US submarine sank an Iranian warship, IRIS Dena, near the southern coast of Sri Lanka on 04 March. The warship was heading back to Iran from an eastern Indian port after participating in a naval exercise. Sri Lankan authorities launched a rescue operation in response to a distress call. Additionally, the US and Israel have intensified strikes across various parts of Iran. In retaliation, Iran has launched new strikes targeting Israel and US military bases in the Middle East on 05 March.
