The United States has imposed sanctions on five Iranian security officials and financial networks, accusing them of being involved in the crackdown on protests in Iran. The sanctioned officials include the Secretary of the Supreme Council for National Security, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and law enforcement forces commanders. Additionally, sanctions were imposed on 18 others who are accused of being involved in laundering the proceeds of Iranian petroleum sales to foreign markets.
