For the first time, the United States has formally backed the European-led pledge to provide security guarantees to Ukraine as part of a potential ceasefire framework. The pledge made during the summit in Paris includes guarantees to reassure Ukraine in the event of a ceasefire with Russia and a binding commitment to support the country in case Russia resumes attacks. US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner attended the summit, along with leaders from France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Ukraine. The move is a significant step towards a peace deal between Ukraine and Russia. However, Russia has not shown any signs of accepting the deal proposed by Ukraine’s allies.
