UN Security Council Approves US Resolution for Gaza
The United Nations Security Council adopted a resolution drafted by the United States, endorsing US President Donald Trump’s Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict. The resolution provides international legitimacy to a post-war framework, authorizing the establishment of a transitional governing body, the Board of Peace (BoP), and a temporary International Stabilization Force (ISF). The ISF is mandated to oversee demilitarization, secure the territory, and support humanitarian efforts, leading to a phased withdrawal of Israeli forces. Hamas has rejected the resolution, asserting that the disarmament provisions compromise the ISF’s neutrality, which indicates a major challenge to the plan’s implementation.
