Uganda: Internet Blackout Imposed Ahead of Election
Uganda’s communications authority has imposed an internet blackout across the country ahead of the general election on 15 January. The authority stated that the decision was made to ensure public safety and prevent ‘online misinformation, disinformation, electoral fraud and incitement of violence’.
