The Supreme Administration of Greek Civil Servants Trade Unions (ADEDY) launched a 24-hour nationwide strike across Greece on 16 December to protest the government’s draft 2026 state budget. Municipal workers, primary and secondary education teachers, and hospital staff (operating with emergency crews) are expected to participate. Rallies are scheduled in major cities, including Athens’ Syntagma Square. The strikes coincide with the nationwide farmers protest that has caused significant transport disruptions due to roadblocks.
