Greece: Clash Between Farmers and Police during Protest

Greece Protest
Farmers clashed with police in Greece on 30 November during protests over the delayed payment of EU farm subsidies amid investigations into a corruption scandal involving the subsidies. The farmers also demand compensation following the sheep pox outbreak. Hundreds of farmers blocked the Athens-Thessaloniki national highway near the central city of Larissa. Authorities have made three arrests during the protest. Additional protests are planned over the week, and farmers continue blocking the highway on 01 December. Traffic authorities have implemented traffic diversions, but transport disruptions are likely to continue along the highway.
