French President Macron Discuss the Iran Crisis and Rising Energy Prices with G7 Leaders
French President Emmanuel Macron will convene a call with leaders of the Group of ‌Seven (G7) on 11 March to coordinate responses to the Iran crisis and rising oil prices. The G7 consists of the United States, Canada, Japan, Italy, the United Kingdom, Germany, and France. The call comes amid recent regional military escalations, including US and Israeli‑linked strikes on Iran and Iranian retaliations that disrupted shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. The G7 energy ministers met earlier on 10 March to discuss the release of strategic oil reserves and have asked the International Energy Agency to assess the situation before making a decision.
