A shooting attack in East Jerusalem on 08 September resulted in at least five fatalities and several injuries. Two attackers opened fire on a bus stop before being shot and killed by a security officer and a civilian. The incident is the deadliest in the city since November 2023. Following the attack, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz warned that a “powerful hurricane” would strike Gaza City. While no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, reports indicate that Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad have praised the perpetrators.
