India: 300 Flights Delayed at Delhi Airport due to Software Glitch

300 Flights Delayed at Delhi Airport
Over 300 flights at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) were significantly delayed on 07 November due to a technical snag in the Air Traffic Control (ATC) system. The glitch primarily affected the Automatic Message Switching System (AMSS), compelling controllers to switch to slower, manual preparation of flight plans. This led to widespread airspace congestion and average delays of 45–50 minutes, affecting several northern Indian airports. Airlines warned of potential cancellations due to runway parking constraints. Flight delays may continue until technical teams are able to restore the system.
