The trip focuses on building confidence-building measures for peace along the India-China border, where both nations maintain significant troop deployments. His itinerary includes meetings with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The agenda also covers trade and the resumption of direct flight services. The visit comes ahead of Prime Minister Modi’s trip to the SCO Summit in Tianjin on 31 August.
