US, Russia to Resume Military Talks

The United States and Russia have agreed to resume high-level military dialogue between their armed forces, following a meeting between senior US and Russian military officers in the United Arab Emirates. Contact between the militaries of both countries was previously suspended in 2021. The aim of consistent military contact is to avoid escalation, increase transparency, and maintain global stability. The agreement comes amid attempts by US President Donald Trump to normalize relations with Russia and reports that the countries were negotiating a deal to extend a nuclear arms reduction treaty that expired on 05 February.
