US President Trump and Chinese President Xi Discuss Bilateral Relations
United States President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping discussed bilateral ties and security issues during their first call since November 2025. The call is seen as a goodwill gesture ahead of President Trump’s expected visit to China in April. President Trump stated that China would consider increasing soybean purchases from the US from 12 million to 20 million metric tons in the current season. Additionally, the leaders also discussed US arms sales to Taiwan, the situation in Iran, the Russia-Ukraine war, and energy trade.
