Flooding Causes Widespread Damage in Bolivia

Bolivia Flooding
Heavy rain over the last few days has caused a river to overflow in the Santa Cruz region of Bolivia, triggering floods. The floods have caused at least 20 casualties, with around two dozen people missing. The death toll is expected to increase as rescue operations continue and teams reach previously inaccessible areas. The national government has declared a state of emergency in the region for five months to support disaster management operations. The weather conditions are forecast to improve in the coming days, which would aid rescue efforts as water levels decrease.
