Cuba to Introduce Rationing Plan Amid Fuel Shortage

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel announced that the government will roll out a ration plan in the next week to address the country’s fuel shortages. Tensions in the country worsened after the United States announced tariffs on goods from countries supplying oil to Cuba last week, which increased prices for food and transportation. The measures, meant to be temporary, would include adjustments in fuel consumption. President Diaz-Canel also reiterated that the country’s foreign ministry is willing to establish a formal bilateral dialogue with the US to resolve the tensions between the countries.
