London Tube Strikes

London commuters continue to face disruptions as the Tube strike shut down nearly all services on Monday, 08 September. The strike may continue till Friday, 12 September. The workers are demanding better pay and working conditions.

The Downing Street urged RMT Union and Transport for London to “get back around the table” to end the strikes as commuters are “rightly fed up,” reports BBC.

Buses, DLR (light metro), the Elizabeth Line, London Overground routes and taxis are operating – they drew more crowd than usual.

Nearly 3.7 million commuters use tube daily. Many worked from home or found other ways to get to place of work.

Forest, which operates 15,000 e-bikes in London, said it experienced four times its usual demand at 9 a.m., Reuter reports.
