Client: India’s leading bearing manufacturing group
Location: Multiple high-value assets across Pune, Bengaluru, and Mysuru
Sector: Industrial Manufacturing (Automotive & Engineering)
The Situation
The client engaged MitKat Advisory to conduct a comprehensive Security Risk Assessment (SRA) across its plant, corporate office, and operational premises. As a high-value manufacturer with global linkages, the client required a full-spectrum evaluation of security vulnerabilities balancing external threats with internal controls.
The scope included
- Equal emphasis on external and internal security controls
- Comparative security evaluation of the three largest manufacturing sites
- Support in building a roadmap for Enterprise-Wide Security Strategy Development
Our Response
MitKat deployed a multi-disciplinary team to execute a Threat Vulnerability Risk Assessment (TVRA), benchmarking practices against best-in-class global and industry standards. The approach involved:
- On-ground gap assessments across five core security domains:
- Governance & Accountability
- Policy & Documented Procedures
- Security Infrastructure
- Security Resources
- Security Operations
- Site vulnerability mapping through visual inspections, document reviews, and stakeholder interactions
- Comparative benchmarking of risk exposures and control efficiency across plants
- Roadmap and PERT matrix for recommended improvements
Key Findings
The audit revealed following vulnerabilities:
- Physical Security Gaps: Sites had uneven fencing, substandard boom barriers, and weak vehicle entry controls. Pedestrian zones lacked surveillance and proper access checks.
- Screening & Access Control Issues: There were no lady security provisions, baggage checks were inconsistent, and alcohol/drug screening protocols were absent.
- Governance Weaknesses:Centralized oversight was missing, SOPs were outdated or incomplete, and security infrastructure was unevenly deployed across locations.
The Outcome
The final report provided the client with:
- A plant-wise security maturity matrix
- A phased risk mitigation roadmap
- Clear accountability for implementation
- Foundational input for their Enterprise-Wide Security Strategy
MitKat’s TVRA-led approach enabled India’s top bearing company to transition from fragmented security practices to an integrated, future-ready framework reducing immediate risks and enhancing long-term resilience.
