Job Description

MitKat is seeking a ‘Head of Transport Security & Safety Risk Management – India’ who would lead the Transportation Program of an esteemed Global IT MNC client of MitKat Advisory. This role will be pivotal in overseeing the security, safety, risk assessment, crisis management, compliance, training, and upliftment of the transportation function including oversight of vendor contracts, their operations for the client, and providing insights for service improvement to industry-leading levels.

Role:

The Head will be the ‘Point of Contact’ (POC) between the client and MitKat and shall be responsible for integrating security and safety measures into transport operations, managing relationships with transport vendors, ensuring compliance with transport and travel regulations, and mitigating risks associated with transport security. This role demands strong leadership, meticulous attention to detail, and effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Transport Security POC will be accountable for:
Transport Security Management:
  • Oversee the implementation of security protocols and procedures to ensure safety and security.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate security threats and vulnerabilities associated with transportation.
  • Ensure the Travel Safety of all client employees.
  • Colincidents and security teams and stakeholders to address security concerns, respond to incidents, and enhance transport security measures.
Vendor Management:
  • Manage relationships with transport vendors, including transportation providers, accommodation facilities, and security service providers.
  • Negotiate contracts, monitor vendor performance, and ensure compliance with security and service standards.
  • Collaborate with vendors to implement security enhancements and address any security-related issues or concerns.
Transport Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies related to transport security and safety.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to verify compliance with security protocols, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations.
  • Stay updated on transport-related compliance regulations and best practices, implementing necessary changes to maintain compliance and enhance transport security.
Crisis Management & Response:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for transportation-related security incidents, providing immediate support and guidance to resolve issues effectively.
  • Implement crisis management protocols and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to mitigate risks and minimize disruptions.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and maintain composure under pressure, guiding the response to transportation security incidents with professionalism and efficiency.
Reporting & Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to security incidents, risk assessments, compliance audits, and vendor management activities.
Travel Risk and Assessment:
  • Prepare regular reports and updates on travel security performance, compliance status, vendor performance, and key metrics for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct assessments to identify potential travel risks and hazards.
  • Develop strategies and protocols to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of travelers.
  • Assess the safety measures and protocols in place for travel operations.
  • Implement enhancements to improve travel safety standards and protocols.
Basic Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience of 8-12 years in operations management, preferably in the transportation or logistics sector, or security with substantial exposure to transport security and safety.
  • Strong understanding of transport operations, including scheduling, routing, and fleet management.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and implement best practices.
  • Experience working in a client-facing role, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements and regulatory frameworks related to transport services.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software applications.
