Israel launched airstrikes targeting Beirut, Lebanon, after issuing blanket evacuation orders for the city on 05 March. The Israeli military has stated that the airstrikes target Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Beirut. Thousands of residents began evacuating following the orders, resulting in heavy traffic jams. All flights to and from Beirut Airport have been suspended until 06 March. This is the first time Israel has ordered residents of an entire area to leave, and the latest airstrikes mark a significant escalation between Israel and Lebanon. According to the Lebanese Health Ministry, 123 casualties due to Israeli airstrikes have been recorded since 02 March.
