The United States has extended the ban on commercial flights from the US to Haiti’s capital until 03 September over the risk of attacks by criminal gangs. The Federal Aviation Administration had halted all flights in November 2024 after a US flight was shot down while landing at Port-au-Prince’s Toussaint Louverture International Airport. Flights to six airports in Haiti, including Port-de-Paix, Cap-Haitien, Pignon, Jeremie, Antoine-Simon, and Jacmel, are not subject to the FAA’s flight ban.
