Indonesia and Australia signed a security treaty on 06 February during a meeting between Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in Jakarta. The pact, which was first announced in November, ensures commitment by both countries to consult each other and consider a joint military response if either country is threatened. The leaders also agreed to pursue increased security cooperation. The new treaty underscores the growing bilateral defence partnership between the two countries.
