Iran and the United States have agreed to resume nuclear talks on 06 February in Turkey amid heightened tensions between the countries. The meeting would be the first meeting between US and Iranian officials since Israel, and the US struck Iranian nuclear sites in June 2025. US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi are scheduled to meet in Istanbul, along with representatives from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. The recent tensions between Iran and the US have increased concerns of regional instability. The meeting is expected to focus on reviving diplomacy regarding Iran’s nuclear programme and easing concerns of a new regional conflict.
