Several European countries, including France, Sweden, Norway and Germany, are deploying a small number of military troops to Greenland to participate in joint exercises with Denmark. This move comes after a meeting between the foreign ministers of Greenland and Denmark with United States Vice President JD Vance in Washington to smooth relations between Denmark, Greenland and the US and Arctic security. The joint exercise are an attempt to assure US President Donald Trump regarding Greenland’s security.
