UAE to Withdraw Forces from Yemen

The United Arab Emirates has announced it will withdraw its remaining forces from Yemen. The decision follows a strike by Saudi Arabia on Yemen’s Mukalla Port targeting a weapons shipment that it claims was from the UAE to the Southern Transitional Council (STC). Following the strike, the Yemini presidential council called for UAE forces to leave the country. Additionally, Saudi Arabia has accused the UAE of ‘pressuring’ the STC to attack Yemen’s government forces in two eastern provinces. The UAE has denied the allegations and stated that it has voluntarily ended its counterterrorism mission in Yemen.
