Japan: 7.5 Magnitude Earthquake
A 7.5 magnitude earthquake occurred near the coast of the Aomori region, Japan, injuring at least 30 people and forcing thousands of people to evacuate on 08 December. Authorities issued a tsunami warning for the Pacific coast of Hokkaido, Aomori prefecture, and Iwate prefecture, which was later lifted on 09 December. The quake resulted in the suspension of train services and power outages in thousands of homes. Authorities have asked residents in the affected region to remain on high alert, given the possibility of aftershocks in the coming days.
