Mosquito-borne Illnesses
The ongoing epidemic in Cuba due to mosquito-borne illnesses, like dengue and chikungunya, has caused 33 deaths over the last few months. According to the Cuban Deputy Minister of Health Carilda Peña, 12 people have died of dengue, and 21 have died of chikungunya, with most of them being under the age of 18.
