Over the past few days, Cyclone Ditwah has caused heavy rainfall across Sri Lanka and the southern coastal states of India, including Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. In Sri Lanka, the cyclone caused landslides, widespread damage, over 330 casualties and the displacement of thousands of people. Rescue and disaster management operations are ongoing. The storm weakened as it moved towards India but is expected to continue causing heavy rainfall in parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. Additionally, three casualties were reported in Tamil Nadu due to rain-related incidents.
