Casualties Rise as Flooding Worsens in Southeast Asia

Flooding in Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia has worsened due to the torrential rainfall over the past week, with casualties rising to at least 183 and millions of people affected. In southern Thailand, 55 people have died. In Indonesia, floods and landslides in Sumatra have caused over 90 casualties, while than 34,000 people were forced to evacuate across Malaysia due to flooding. Authorities in the region are working to rescue stranded residents and restore utility services.
