Severe Weather Conditions in Sri Lanka due to Cyclone Ditwah
Various provinces and districts across Sri Lanka are facing severe weather conditions, including heavy rainfall, floods and landslides due to cyclone Ditwah. As of 28 November, the storm has caused 56 casualties and injured 14 people, while 21 people remain missing. Over 200,000 troops have been deployed to assist in rescue and disaster management operations. Transportation, including rail and flight services, has been significantly disrupted. The storm is expected to continue bringing torrential rains across Sri Lanka. Some Indian states, such as Tamil Nadu, are on high alert as the cyclone moves north-northwestward.
