Heavy rains over the past few days have caused the worst flooding in years across nine southern Thai provinces, including Songkla, killing 13 people and affecting nearly two million people. In response, the Royal Thai Navy is deploying aircraft carriers and a flotilla of 14 boats, equipped with doctors and supplies, to serve as a floating hospital. The disaster has forced the temporary suspension of Hat Yai Airport operations and the Chana Power Plant, severely disrupting critical infrastructure and logistical supply chains in the major rubber trading region.
