The Delhi government has imposed a new directive mandating all government and private offices to function at 50 percent of staff strength and work from home for the rest as air quality worsens. The orders are as per stage three of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) measure and aim to reduce vehicular movement linked to office commutes, as authorities state vehicular emission as a major contributor to air pollution. Essential services like hospitals, fire services, public transport departments, utility services, disaster management units and agencies involved in pollution control are exempted from the 50 percent cap.
