Torrential rain has worsened conditions in central Vietnam, including Gia Lai and Dak Lak provinces, with rain exceeding 1,500 mm in several parts of the region over the past three days. The rain has resulted in floods, landslides, and inundation of more than 43,000 houses and over 10,000 hectares of crops, while the casualty number rose to 16. Businesses and households in some parts are also facing blackouts due to damage to power grids. Rescue operations are ongoing but are hampered by damage to key roads that have isolated several regions.
