On 12 November, tropical storm Fung-wong impacted Taiwan, injuring 51 people and prompting the evacuation of more than 8,000 residents nationwide. The Yilan County in the northeast was the most affected region. The Central Emergency Operation Centre (CEOC) recorded 349 disaster incidents across the country, including 99 flooding events. As a result of the storm, utility services such as power and water supply were disrupted in thousands of homes. Consequently, schools and offices in central and southern Taiwan were closed on 12 November. Transport was also significantly disrupted by flooding and landslides.
