Typhoon Kalmaegi Moves Towards Vietnam

Typhoon Kalmaegi
Typhoon Kalmaegi is headed towards the central region of Vietnam and is expected to make landfall along the coast between Quang Ngai and Dak Lak on 07 November. As of 05 November, the storm has caused widespread destruction across the central Philippines and at least 66 casualties. Vietnam’s National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting (NCHMF) has warned of rising water levels of 0.3 to 0.6 meters for coastal areas from Hue City to Dak Lak Province, which could cause flooding in low-lying areas. Authorities have begun preparations to mitigate the typhoon’s impact.
