Brazil launched three weeks of COP30-linked events on 03 November, commencing the lead-up to the main United Nations summit in Belém from 10-21 November. The objective is to renew focus on global warming, energy transition financing, and Amazon forest conservation. However, the preparatory process is challenged by low confirmed attendance from world leaders, increasing geopolitical tensions, and the United States’ reversals on clean energy policy. Simultaneously, business groups meeting in São Paulo issued a formal call for governments to urgently implement incentives for renewable energy. This action highlights a commitment from the corporate sector, even as the multilateral environment remains strained.
