Poland Drone Incursion: UN Security Council to Meet
The UN Security Council will convene an emergency meeting on 12 September, at Poland’s request after Russian drones violated its airspace on 10 September. Poland’s foreign minister said Warsaw would use the session to “draw the world’s attention to this unprecedented Russian drone attack.” Drone fragments were found over 300 miles inside Poland, marking the first time NATO forces engaged Russian drones. Russia denied targeting Poland, while NATO’s General Alexus Grynkewich said it was unclear if the incursion was deliberate. Germany and France have announced plans to reinforce NATO’s eastern flank amid heightened security concerns.
