Netherlands Activates National Heat Plan
The Netherlands has activated its National Heat Plan starting at 1000 hours on Tuesday, with the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) issuing a nationwide Code Yellow weather alert. The heatwave threatens much of the country with temperatures exceeding 30°C and peaking at 35°C in some eastern areas is a result of a strong regional heatwave. The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) is urging the public to take precautions by staying hydrated, avoiding direct sun, and limiting strenuous activities to mitigate health risks.
