On 05 August, a cloudburst was reported in Dharali village, Uttarkashi district, in India. This triggered a debris flow that caused the Kheer Ganga river to swell and extensively damage the Rali Bazaar. Following reports of individuals possibly buried, rescue teams from the Indian Army, Police, and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have been deployed. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for heavy to extremely heavy rainfall for Dehradun, Tehri Garhwal, Pauri Garhwal and Bageshwar, while an orange alert has been issued in multiple districts. Forecasts predict continued heavy rainfall through 06 August, with an elevated risk of flooding, landslides, and power interruptions in the affected areas.
