“Good Trouble Lives On” protests are planned across several locations in the US on 17 July. Nearly 1,500 events have been planned across 400 cities. The term “Good Trouble” was coined by late US Congressman and prominent civil rights activist John Lewis to describe non-violent civil rights movements, 17 July 2025 marks his fifth death anniversary.
These protests could have limited impact including restrictions on movement of people, vehicles and supplies in event-affected localities. Despite arrangements by and likely presence of law enforcement officials, such large congregations have some potential for violence, clashes, injuries and damages which organisations must plan and prepare for.
